Hannibal Lecter Will Eat Your Heart Out On Blu-Ray

Break out the fava beans and Chianti because on March 3rd, the infamous Dr. Hannibal Lecter is coming to Blu-ray. MGM Home Entertainment will bring you The Silence of the Lambs in the extraordinary HD experience of BD.

An FBI trainee, Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), is investigating the case of Buffalo Bill, a psychopathic serial killer who is kidnapping and murdering women all over the Midwest. Clarice is sent to interview the incarcerated Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) in hope of finding clues to Buffalo Bill’s next moves. Lecter agrees to help Clarice under the condition that she forfeits details about her own life. As her relationship with Lecter grows, Clarice becomes responsible not only for her original assignment, but for managing the cannibalistic killer and her own demons as well.

It’s a good thing this disc was put together because, otherwise, Dr. Lecter’s stomach might be growling. Being that Silence of the Lambs is one of just three movies to ever win the top five Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Director – Jonathan Demme, Best Actor – Anthony Hopkins, Best Actress – Jodie Foster and Best Screenplay), it deserves special treatment on Blu-ray. The disc comes with an immense amount of special features. The majority of the material is made up of deleted scenes, but there is also several featurettes that are sure to invoke some excitement amongst the Lecter fans.

Pay your respects to a monumental film and a monumental villain and pick up Silence of the Lambs. It’s one thing to jump out of your seat the twentieth time you watch Saw, but it’s another to be haunted by a character so ominous that his faces is engrained in your mind for a lifetime. Say good evening to Clarice and pick up a copy for $34.99.
