See The Biggest Set Of Ears In The Clarity Of Blu-Ray

Compared to his adventure on the big screen, making the move to DVD and Blu-ray will be nothing. On April 7th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will bring the bravest little mouse into your home when The Tale of Despereaux is released on DVD and Blu-ray Hi-Def.

Not even a pair of oversized ears can hold Despereaux (Matthew Broderick) back. This little mouse is packed with an enormous amount of courage. While most people would honor his bravery, the mouse society considers it to be problem. After being banished from his home, Despereaux sets out on an amazing adventure to rescue his human friend, Princess Pea (Emma Watson).

The Tale of Desperaux features the voices of an impressive cast including, Broderick, Watson, Dustin Hoffman, Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Kline, William H. Macy, Tracy Ullman and Stanley Tucci. Pair the comforting familiarity of famous voices with a visually stimulating story and you’re bound to end up with a film that can appeal to both children and their parents. Add in some enjoyable bonus features and you get a great DVD as well.

Both the DVD and Blu-ray version will come with a behind-the-scenes featurette detailing the making of a modern animated film, “Top Ten Uses for Oversized Ears” and a sneak peek of Curious George 2. Exclusive to the DVD will be an interactive map of the kingdom of Dor, Despereaux’s Quest Game, the Build-A-Boldo game and a DVD-ROM with fun activities, wallpapers and screensavers. Exclusive to the Blu-ray edition will be two new songs, screen progression with filmmaker commentaries, Make Your Own Soup game, a card creator for creating Despereaux-themed greeting cards, U-Control and access to BD-Live.
