Tin Man Clicks Toward DVD
The Sci-Fi Channel has been doing a pretty good job with their miniseries endeavors lately. Last year’s The Lost Room was quite fascinating and this year’s Tin Man was an interesting story, if not wholly satisfying. Starring Zooey Deschanel, Alan Cumming, Richard Dreyfuss, and Neal McDonogh, the four-hour miniseries revisited Frank L. Baum’s classic story with a modern twist.
Tin Man is headed for DVD on March 11th, with a two-disc edition that features the entire miniseries and “loads of bonus features,” although the only thing actually announced at this time is a “making-of” featurette. Here’s hoping they pay some attention to the original tale in either a featurette or maybe some kind of pop-up trivia track that helps indicate connections between the original story and this retelling. A commentary track or the like would also be nice. We'll share more details as we get them.
