Walk The Line: Extended Edition Footage - Get Rhythm

I’m not usually much of one for DVD double dips, especially when a movie had a pretty excellent release the first time around. Walk the Line has already had single and double disc editions, so what justifies a new release for the Oscar winning film? How about new material inserted into an extended cut?

Frankly, I’m still not sold on the idea of Walk the Line: Extended Cut. The movie was pretty flawless as it was, with the possible exception of that one deleted scene of Joaquin Phoenix’s Johnny Cash singing “Cry, Cry, Cry” that was included on the first DVD set. The musical numbers were pretty awesome, however, so I don’t mind the idea of seventeen more minutes of recreated Cash hits.

Fox was kind enough to send over a few clips from the March 25th DVD release. Here’s a look at the first one – an extended version of Phoenix as Cash singing “Get Rhythm,” which is one of the never-before-seen extras on the DVD:
