Wii U owners are finally receiving some of Assassin's Creed 3's downloadable content. Today's eShop update will bring the Hidden Secrets and Battle Hardened DLC packs to the console.

The Hidden Secrets Pack unlocks the Captain of the Aquila and Colonial Assassin outfits for the campaign. Three new missions will add an hour of gameplay. On the multiplayer side, players will have access to new Redcoat and Sharpshooter characters.

Battle Hardened only adds multiplayer content. It introduces the Governor, Highlander and Coyote Man characters. Three new maps will take players to Charlestown, Fort St-Mathieu and Saint Pierre.

Ubisoft previously confirmed that all of the game's DLC would be released on Wii U. That means Wii U owners can also look forward to the single-player campaign called the Tyranny of King Washington. This three-part adventure depicts an alternate history in which George Washington becomes a tyrant.

PS3 and Xbox 360 owners can buy the game's entire DLC collection in one fell swoop with the Season Pass. However, Ubisoft won't be releasing a Pass on the Wii U so those gamers will need to buy the DLC individually.
