Activision announced that a brand new Bakugan game is in the works exclusively for the Nintendo DS and the game is scheduled to make an appearance on retail shelves just in time for the holiday season.

David Oxford, Activision Publishing commented in the press release about the new game, saying…
“Our ongoing collaboration with Nelvana Enterprises has proven to be a worldwide success,” ... “It’s an absolute blast to work on a property with such a hungry and dedicated fan base. We look forward to producing this new Bakugan title and it being embraced by kids for its innovative style and incredibly unique gameplay.”

The new game takes a completely different spin on the Bakugan universe, switching over to a whole new tower defense style setup, enabling gamers to utilize new kinds of strategies and tactics against ruthless opponents.

Players will assume control of one of the five major Bakugan brawlers as they defend New Vestroia against an invading group of new enemies. Players will be given some classic, adventure RPG elements fused in with the new-school tower defense mechanics. It’s literally a series’ first for the Bakugan video games.

Colin Bohm, Managing Director, Nelvana Enterprises shared a few comments as well, saying…
“We are extremely pleased with the global success of Bakugan and excited about yet another exceptional Bakugan title from Activision in the global game space with Bakugan: Rise of the Resistance,” ... “Activision has the unique ability to distill a property into its most engaging form while staying true to its core principles.”

Bakugan: Rise of the Resistance is rated ‘E’ for Everyone and will be available this fall for the DS. Need to learn more? Feel free to visit the Official Website.
