Interwave Games wants to get in some originality within the major playing field of console-based ingenuity with their mixed-genre action title, Nuclear Dawn.
The new wave of interaction for this emerging generation of innovation comes in the form of FPS versus RTS gameplay. How does it work? Someone plays as a commander, directing troops and laying down precision tactics while players on the ground actually carry out those tactics. This model was originally introduced by S2 Games in Savage and Savage 2: Tortured Souls. It later evolved in Game Tech’s BattleSwarm: Field of Honor, a Starship Troopers meets Starcraft MMORTS versus MMOFPS and now Interwave is using the model in their Source-based Nuclear Dawn.
Nuclear Dawn is very similar to BattleSwarm, except players won’t be dispatching hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of man-eating bugs. Instead, the game is a military, tactical game that requires the use of manipulating the terrain and obstructions to one’s advantage.
