Aw, man. It looks like Rayman Legends is being pushed back for the Wii U. Seeing as how the Wii U version of the game is also currently the only version of the game, that means we won’t be getting a dose of platforming awesomeness until sometime in Q1 of next year.

The humor here, of course, is that t Rayman Legends is currently still listed as a Wii U launch title, since the Wii U “launch window” extends for a full five months following the system’s initial release. Rayman Legends was supposed to be a legitimate day one launch title in Europe (Nov. 20) though, so it’s kind of a bummer we won’t be seeing it for quite some time.

This news comes from Videogamer, who received official word on the delay from publisher Ubisoft.

“We’re happy that fans are excited about the game, and we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations,” said the statement. “We’ll have more details to share soon.”

Given how fantastic 2011’s Rayman Origins was, this is certainly sad news for fans of the series who were hoping to see the limb-less wonder again this holiday season. But don’t worry, there should still be plenty of games worth playing arriving day one with the Wii U. Such as Zombie U. Or perhaps Zombie U. And then there’s always Zombie U, too.
