Robot Chicken has been bringing in the yucks on Adult Swim for quite some time, tackling all sorts of pop culture icons including the legendary Star Wars franchise. Tonight, the comedic masterminds behind the clamation show are setting their sights on video games, specifically PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

According to a PlayStation Blog post from Robot Chicken co-creator and executive producer Matthew Senreich, Sony gave them the opportunity to literally “play” with the game’s huge cast of characters, exploring the world that takes place before and after Sony’s mascots duke it out in-game.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale gave us an opportunity in the writers’ room to have the geek discussions we all love to have,” Senreich said. “Who would destroy who in a fight to the death, or wherever they end up going after being defeated.”

Robot Chicken’s Douglas Goldstein took on the project as head writer, alongside “super gamer writers” Mike Fasolo and Rachel Bloom. To cap it all off, Zeb Wells was brought in to direct the clip.

Judging by the clip above, it looks like the Robot Chicken gang have put together something special utilizing Sony’s recently released four-player brawler. To see the entire clip, it will run sometime during the 10 p.m. hour (Eastern/Pacific Time) of Adult Swim this very evening.
