This week is all about Kirby as the Nintendo eShop updates with three new titles featuring the developer’s round, pink ball of adorableness.
Kirby can be awfully deceiving. At first glance, he looks like a pink marshmallow, and about as dangerous as one to boot. But once he starts sucking up enemies and taking on their special abilities, Kirby’s true power shines through.
In honor of the vacuum-esque hero, Nintendo is releasing three new/old games to the Wii U eShop including Kirby’s Dream Land 3, Kirby’s Dream Course and Kirby Super Star.
Kirby’s Dream Land 3 is a continuation of the main story in which the mischievous King Dedede must once again have his evil plans thwarted. To protect Dream Land, Kirby can now call on the help of his animal friends in order to take advantage of their unique abilities, too.
Kirby’s Dream Course is a bizarre golf game wherein players must guide Kirby to the hole, all while taking on special abilities from his enemies to progress. The game features eight full courses to play through with 64 holes in total.
Finally, there’s Kirby Super Star, which sees the pink wonder journeying through six main games and two mini-games to once again defeat King Dedede.
And what’s better than three Kirby games? Getting one of them for free, of course. From now until 9 a.m. PT on May 30, buying any two of the above games for the Wii U will unlock the third one at no additional charge.
On over to the Nintendo 3DS and the focus shifts from Kirby to a giant gorilla with the release of Donkey Knong Country Returns 3D. This latest Wii remake offers eight brand new levels, the ability to play the game in Original Mode, as well as a New Mode that takes advantage of the 3DS hardware.
Naruto Powerful Shippuden and Groove Heaven also release for the Nintendo 3DS eShop this week, along with a 20 percent off sale on The Denpa Men: They Came by Wave.
