As excited I am for the story inBrave, the newest film from Disney/Pixar, I'm just as excited (if not more excited) to see the animation. While Pixar movies have always been beautiful, there's an intensely beautiful, natural element that we've seen in the previews thus far. Just looking at Merida's hair, with its detailed strands and small curls, you want to rush to your local theater to see it on the big screen. While we're still a few months away from seeing that happening, we can now get a taste from a few new character posters.

Showing off Merida, King Fergus, Queen Elinor, Lords Macintosh, MacGuffin, and Dingwall and the triplets, the new posters not only show off the great character design, but also have a great splash of Scottish culture that doesn't feel overdone or mean. You can see all four pieces of art below and to see them in high-res head over to EW.

Featuring the voice talents of Kelly Macdonald, Emma Thompson, Billy Connolly, Kevin McKidd, Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters and Craig Ferguson, Brave is about a young princess and archer named Merida who defies her kingdom's customs by refusing to take a husband. The move causes chaos, but nothing compared to what happens when Merida makes a wish that could mean utter devastation. Relying on her bravery and skills, Merida fights back against the beastly curse and tries to reestablish order. The movie is directed by Mark Andrews Brenda Chapman and you can read more about it in our Blend Film Database.
