New Cabin In The Woods Stills And TV Spot

Today is a day about three years in the making. It was back in 2009 that Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon teamed up to make The Cabin in the Woods and after a long wait due to the MGM bankruptcy the film is finally ready to make its debut with a public audience. Tonight the movie will be having its premiere down in Austin, Texas at SXSW and to celebrate Lionsgate has released both a brand new TV spot as well as two new stills from the movie.

Let's start with the images, shall we? First up we have Kristen Connolly and Jesse Williams, who play Dana and Holden in the movie. As seen in the trailer, this is from a scene where the young adults discover the first strange thing about the house: it has a one-way mirror that looks from one bedroom into the next (you can click on both images to see them full size):

Next up we have Fran Kranz, who plays the stoner Marty Mikalski. Though he's rather laid back most of the time, as you can see here he can rise to the occasion when necessary:

Finally we have the brand new TV spot, which premiered over at Bloody Disgusting. As with all of the trailers we've run for The Cabin in the Woods here on Cinema Blend, I will warn you that some of the stuff in this trailer is footage that you might not want to see before watching the movie. Believe me when I say that this is a film where you want to know as little as you can going into it the first time. That said, feel free to check it out!

The Cabin in the Woods also stars Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison,Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Brian J. White and Amy Acker. Look for Katey's review of the film later tonight and for the love of god go see it when it comes out on April 13th. In the meantime, to learn more about the title head over to our Blend Film Database.
