Cheech: Religious Icon?

Harold and Kumar may be talked about as the new Cheech and Chong, but at least one half of the legendary comedy team-- Cheech Marin-- is all over the place, actually. He's got recurring roles on both Lost and Grey's Anatomy, and now he's taking on his first directing role in over 15 years, a movie in which he'll also star.

The concept of Angel of Oxnard, as described by Variety, is appropriately bizarre and great. Marin will play Angel Mejias, the voice of a fictional version of the Home Shopping Network, whose face appears, Virgin Mary-style, on a tortilla. A worldwide media frenzy obviously ensues, and given that the movie is a dramedy, it probably changes Angel's life for both good and bad.

Cheech and Chong are actually on tour right now, in case you can't wait for Cheech to appear on your tortilla.
