Cloverfield Trailer In HD

The new Cloverfield trailer is online! Okay, maybe that’s not new, but this time it’s a legitimate Quicktime version available in high definition options instead of the low quality bootleg YouTube video everyone was pushing a few days ago. It’s the closest you can come to seeing the trailer on the big screen, shy of going to see Beowulf in a theater right now.

The new trailer isn’t as cohesive as the first teaser, showing fragments of footage from throughout the story instead of one or two continuous scenes like Rob’s going away party (featured in the teaser). We do see Rob and pals later on as they are making their way through the streets of New York, as well as the headless body of the Statue of Liberty. Oh, there’s a shot of the monster as well, although it’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot that even being able to freeze-frame doesn’t help. Something tells me we’ll never see a solid shot of the beast until the movie is released, and then only in theaters.

Both the original teaser and the new trailer are available through Apple. Click to see the trailer in Quicktime!.
