Disgrace Finds Malkovich

John Malkovich has been brought on board to play a disgraced college professor in an upcoming movie adaptation of the J.M. Coetzee book "Disgrace". At least the title gets right to the point.

Production Weekly says the movie starts shooting in January from a script written by Anna-Maria Monticelli and Steve Jacobs, who also plans to direct.

The book tells the story of a 52-year-old English professor in the South African city of Cape Town. After years teaching Romantic poetry at a Technical University, the prof has an affair with a student and ends up denounced and under inquiry. He admits his guilt and goes to hide out at his daughter's farm, only to become the victims of a savage and disturbing attack somehow tied to apartheid. The plot sounds so convoluted it makes my head hurt. Pick a topic gents and stick with it.
