Ghost Rider 2 May Head To Europe

Because Europe just won't be complete until a flaming skull goes riding through it, or maybe because Tom Hanks is having all the fun investigating the church, Ghost Rider 2 may be going Continental.

In an interview to promote this Friday's Bangkok Dangerous, Cage said he met with studio executives three months ago to discuss possibilities for a sequel to 2007's Ghost Rider. "We talked about going international with that character, taking him into Europe, going on a motocylce tour through Europe." And because you can't swing a cat without hitting a grand old cathedral in most European countries, ol' Ghosty will be investigating the church, Robert Langdon style. "It has elements of it that are very much in the zeitgiest. like The Da Vinci Code and things like that."

Cage emphasized repeatedly throughout the movie that he wants to make internationally based films, presumably not just so he can go on awesome vacations. But is this the worst idea ever, or a good way to shake up a franchise that made a ton of cash, but didn't exactly thrill the comic's fans?
