Joe Manganiello's True Blood character Alcide is typically a stand-up kind of guy, who can usually be counted on to do the right thing in any given situation. It sounds like that's a trait he shares - somewhat - with the role Manganiello is in talks to play in the upcoming David Ayer-directed action thriller Breacher.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news today that Manganiello is in negotiations to join Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sam Worthington in David Ayer's Breacher. Written by Skip Woods (Swordfish, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), the film follows ten DEA agents who pull off a heist, after which they start dying one by one. The more recent casting news for the film has offered a few additional clues as to where the story may be heading.

Late last month we shared the news that Terrence Howard and House of Lies' Dawn Olivieri were in talks to join the film as a romantically linked duo who are among the DEA agents involved in the heist and later conspire to steal the stolen goods. It sounds like the role Manganiello is up for has him heading in a different direction, morally. The character's name is Grinder, and he's a DEA agent involved in the heist who develops a conscience afterward and attempts to contact the police. "Attempts" may be a key word there, as it sounds like at least some of these characters' days are numbered.

Probably best known for playing werewolf Alcide Herveaux in HBO's True Blood, Manganiello has a few other TV credits (How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill) to his name, and more recently some feature credits, including What To Expect When You're Expecting and playing the part of Big Dick Richie in Magic Mike.
