Joseph Gordon-Levitt Has A Porn Addiction In New Don Jon Trailer

Following a year in which he was featured in just about every other movie cinemas, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has taken his talents and experience behind the camera and has written and directed his feature debut film, Don Jon. We've been tracking it since the beginning of 2013, catching it at both the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW, but now that it's ready to hit theaters nationwide we have a brand new trailer to show you, courtesy of Yahoo!

In the movie Gordon-Levitt stars as Jon "Don Jon" Martello, Jr., an ordinary guy in his mid-30s living in New Jersey who cares about nothing in the world other than his family, his friends, his car, his apartment, getting laid, and watching porn. He lives a happy if unsatisfying life, but everything starts to change when he meets Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson), the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He quickly falls in love with her, but their relationship becomes fractured when she makes him give up his precious pornography. The film co-stars Julianne Moore (who is bizarrely absent from this latest preview) as a classmate of Jon's at night school, Tony Danza and Glenne Headly as Jon's parents, and Brie Larson as his sister.

What's peculiar about this trailer is that it's actually quite a bit shorter than the first spot we showed you, which debuted back in May. Obviously this means that it doesn't have nearly as much footage, and, in fact, it almost feels like this trailer was just cut from footage from the last one. Check it out for comparison purposes below.

The truth is that a green band trailer may not even be the proper way to sell this movie. If you couldn't already tell from the subject or the MPAA warning about "graphic sexual material and dialogue throughout, nudity, language and some drug use," this is an R-rated movie and pushes a few boundaries. In fact, Gordon-Levitt even admitted that he had to cut some of the sex from the film in order to make sure it could actually be released in mainstream theaters.

Don Jon is set to be released by Relativity Media on September 27th following a showing at the Toronto International Film Festival. Check out the recently released poster for the movie below.
