Ken Jeong's Mr. Chow Will Have A Bigger Role In The Next Hangover

I’m not sure there’s any actor or actress in Hollywood who started his or her career with five better movies than Ken Jeong. Like a ringer, he popped in to steal a few scenes in Knocked Up, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Role Models and The Hangover before the last one finally got people to start asking who the hell he was. Three years later, he now stars on Community and gets offered slightly larger parts, this time in The Hangover Part III.

Details of the plot are being played very closely to the vest by Todd Phillips and company, but sources within the production told The Hollywood Reporter Jeong part will be “significantly expanded”. Whether that means he’ll become a full-fledged member of the wolfpack or just create a greater number of shenanigans is unclear, but given his apparent friendship with Galifianakis’ Alan, it doesn’t really feel strange or forced that he’d be joining the guys wherever they head to the next time around.

There are reportedly still some minor scheduling issues for Jeong to deal with as pertains to balancing Community and The Hangover Part III, but those should be worked out shortly. Once that’s accomplished, the only thing that really matters is for someone to come up with a plot worth seeing. The Hangover Part II had its moments, but it lacked the originality and spark of the first entry. Here’s to hoping Phillips throws the game plan out and tries to wow us with something unexpected.
