Live-Action Pokemon Trailer Is Fan-Made, But Still Pretty Cool

A short 39-second video came online last week for what appeared to be a trailer for a live-action Pokemon movie. While the CGI looked solid (it was a pretty crappy bootleg version), the content was totally out of place for a franchise that's main purpose is to enchant children with made-up cute animals that can only say their name. Basically, there were far too many guns for it to be real. As expected, it was actually a segment from a fan-made trailer, but it's a well made one all the same.

YouTube user Megasteakman has posted the full trailer in HD (the film's official title is Pokémon Apokélypse)and while we will never see anything like it come to theaters, it's still pretty cool. As intimated by the released clip, the CGI is fairly well done for an amateur and the creator approached the material in a unique way. Is it as good as the Mortal Kombat video that came out in June? Not even close. But that doesn't mean it's not worth a watch.
