MTV Movie Award Nominees

Only MTV could actually nominate Diary of a Mad Black Woman for something other than a Razzie. The MTV Movie Awards mean absolutely nothing… but they’re a lot of fun to watch. That makes their irrelevance pretty damn excusable. Entertaining is something that none of the other awards shows manage. They’ve added a couple wacky new categories this year, Best Videogame Based on a Movie and Best Frightened Performance, the second one no doubt having been added to give them a chance to get horrible people like Paris Hilton up on stage.

They’ve just announced this year’s batch of MTV Award nominees, and Will Ferrell’s Anchorman tops the list along with Lindsey Lohan’s Mean Girls. Justification for my love of Ron Burgandy over Dodgeball? No, but later when I’m talking about it with Rafe that’s exactly what I’ll use it as.

So, courtesy of MTV, below is this year’s list of MTV Award nominees. Their fourteenth annual awards ceremony, hosted by the metro-sexual Jimmy Fallon will air on June 9th at 8:30PM EST. Admit it, you’ll be watching.
