There are very few reasons to be freaked out by a Tweet. Easily one of the lowest forms of communication, Twitter is typically used for little more than making dumb jokes and commenting on the weather. Today, however, producer Frank Marshall sent out a message that shook a lot of movie fans to their core:
"Something big is coming soon. Can't say anything yet. No one should know too much about their own destiny. #BTTF"
Immediately people began imagining the worst: sequel or remake. Hell, even I sent a message back to Marshall saying "Please don't." Fans began racking their brains for how the Tweet could be seen as a positive thing, but with both the trilogy being released on Blu-ray last year and the first film recently having a run in theaters, most were coming up empty. It turns out that it may be something amazing.

Remember that scene from Back To The Future Part II? Well, now the Nike Air Mag may become a reality. Nice Kicks, a blog about sneakers, recently posted about a major event being held by Nike in Los Angeles. Upon traveling to the California city and checking into his hotel room, he received a box from the shoe manufacturer containing a pair of Doc's futuristic sunglasses and an iPod nano with the message, "Welcome to Los Angeles. If my calculations are correct, over the next 24 hours you are about to see some SERIOUS SH*T!" Further supporting the theory, NBA player Kevin Durant recently Tweeted, "I need some new shoes. Any recommendations? Think, McFly, think. #BTTF".

Could this be it? Is it possible that by 2015 power laces will be all the rage? Only time will tell. In the meantime, I'm going to hop in my DeLorean and catch a screening of Max Spielberg's Jaws 19.

UPDATE!: Frank Marshall has just sent out another Tweet with the following video. No more speculation necessary, folks:
