New Paranormal Activity 4 Spot Will Get You Ready For October

We are now just a little over a month away from Halloween (I hope you have already figured out your costume!), and in the movie world that means only one thing: it's once again time for some more Paranormal Activity. Since 2009, when the first film in the franchise was released in theaters, every year we have gotten a brand new sequel and 2012 will be no different. Directed by Catfish filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who also directed Paranormal Activity 3, the newest movie will be in theaters on October 19th and today Paramount Pictures has released a brand new look.

The trailer - which, unfortunately, is only about 30 seconds long - premiered over at Yahoo! and you can watch it below.

We still don't really know what's going on in Paranormal Activity 4 or how the events in the movie will connect to the earlier films, but it is worth noting that the timestamp in the corner of the screen says that the story will be set in 2011, which means that it won't be another prequel like Paranormal Activity 3 (which was set in 1988). The actress in the trailer is Kathryn Newton who will apparently be playing a character named Alice, but, again, there are more than a few question marks surrounding how she will fit into the bigger plot. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

If you're wondering what the title card at the end of the movie is about, back in August it was announced that the third sequel will be premiering early in 25 cities across the country, and you can vote to have it come to a theater near you.
