Scarecrow Kills Mad-Eye Moody's Henchman

Casting is underway for the upcoming comedy thriller Perrier’s Bounty. According to HR, director Ian Fitzgibbon nabbed Cillian Murphy, Jim Broadbent and Brendan Gleeson to star in his film.

Gleeson will be taking on the role of Perrier, a gangster kingpin furious over the death of one of his men. His buddy’s killer? Three unlikely fugitives. It seems as though Murphy’s role may be one of those fugitives. Broadbent will be playing Murphy’s long-lost father, but it’s not clear whether or not his character plays a part in the accidental killing. But now back to Murphy. The actor is best known for his creepiest roles: one being Dr. Jonathon Crane, or the Scarecrow, in Batman Begins and the other as psychotic killer Jackson Rippner in Redeye. Although many actors tend to be typecast according to their biggest hits, Murphy is talented enough to break the trend. If he needs any help making the transition he should pass on asking costar Glesson for help; he may have a little Professor Moody (Harry Potter) on the brain. But Broadbent may be useful. With films like Hot Fuzz and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason on his resume, he comes fairly well seasoned in the comedic genre.

The filming of the Mark O’Rowe script will take place in Ireland and begin sometime in early November. The producers include Alan Moloney of Parallel Films and Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen of Number 9 Films. The film will be financially supported by Irish Film Board and the Limelight and Premiere Picture funds. U.K. and Irish rights were prebought by Optimum Releasing. HanWay Films is in control of worldwide sales, which will begin with the American Film Market that takes places from November 5th to the 12th.
