Subscribe To See What Pixar's Newt Could Have Been Updates
Back in May it was made official that Disney Pixar was abandoning its plans to make Newt, the story of the last two blue-footed newts on the planet, one male and one female, and how they despised each other. Moving forward with projects like Cars 2 and Monsters Inc. 2 instead, there had already been a considerable amount of work done, including concept art and promotional materials. Now those images are online.

Disney Pixar has posted a full gallery of images from the dead project on their Facebook page. Thirty images in all, the artwork shows off many of the characters, from the male and female leads to the scientists who are attempting to get them to mate. The original concept of the film wasn't exactly brilliant (of course they learn to love each other before the closing credits), but the art certainly is. Its not surprising when you consider that this is Pixar we are talking about, but it's a shame that we will never see a finished product. Perhaps they can adapt the story for one of their famous shorts.

Check out a select few of the images below and head over to the Disney Pixar Facebook page to see the rest.
