Trailer For King Of Kong

I’m not sure how I’ve avoided much information on The King of Kong until now. Maybe I’m still burned out on the King Kong push from Peter Jackson’s opus. Maybe I didn’t know what the film was about. Whatever the reason, now I’ve seen the trailer and I’m very intrigued.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters is a documentary about a simple video game record that one man set twenty years ago, and another man is trying to beat. The game: Donkey Kong (hence the “Kong” in the title). A battle over a video game score doesn’t seem that epic a subject, but even occasional video game players know the frustration and drive that comes with trying to beat just one more baddie or complete one more goal. I can only imagine the drive that goes with trying to beat a twenty year old record.

Okay, maybe I’m not doing the movie much good with my description. Check it out for yourself. The trailer for The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters is online over at Yahoo (yes, that means you have to deal with the joys of streaming video). Click here to see the trailer for yourself
