New In Town is a generically named romantic comedy that was originally called Chilled in Miami, which was at least creative-- if a little confusing. Now the movie has a an interchangeable title that seems to suit it, at least based on the trailer that's surfaced at MSN Video.
Not to knock Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr., who I'm sure will look lovely together as they fall in love despite all odds. But when a trailer mostly features the main actress falling down or trying to pee in the woods, you wonder if that's really the best they could come up with for the trailer. Zellweger plays a woman from Miami who moves to Minnesota, and of course, all kinds of hilarious hijinks involving cold weather and snow ensue. At some point Harry Connick Jr. shows up as beefy, handsome proof that at least some things are better up north.
New in Town comes out in January, a time most people with any sense keep far, far away from the movie theater anyway. I've got a feeling New in Town will turn out to be another one of those placeholders, a movie you see when there's nothing else worth seeing until March. Sigh.
