William Fichtner Joins The Cast Of Neill Blomkamp's Elysium

While Drive Angry 3D certainly wasn't the best film ever made, I do wish more people had seen it. Why? Because William Fichtner is amazing. Known to way too many people as "the bank manager from The Dark Knight," Fichtner is one our best character actors and always manages to put on a great performance. It's for that reason that I now hope a lot of people go see Elysium.

Variety reports that Fichtner has joined the cast of Neill Blomkamp's sci-fi follow-up to District 9. Details regarding the story remain thin, but we do know that it is set 100 years in the future future, has a social allegory, and that Syd Mead, designer of Blade Runner, Aliens, and Star Trek: The Motion Picture, has been hired for set design. In addition to Fichtner, the cast already includes Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley and Wagner Moura. Production is scheduled to start in July and the film will be released by Sony on March 8, 2013.

Did a movie that already sounds awesome somehow just get awesomer? Yes, yes I think it did.
