Subscribe To The Best Way To Experience The New Ghostbusters, According To The Director Updates
Ghostbusters has been a topic of conversation (and controversy) for a while, but now it's only a few weeks away from release. Some are eager to see this remained version, while others prefer that the original movies hadn't been remade. Either way, the reboot is shaping up to be one of the most prominent movies this month, but to get the full experience, director Paul Feig recommends that moviegoers check out the feature in IMAX 3D.
Feig declared this earlier today on his Twitter page, saying how he just saw Ghostbusters in its full glory on IMAX 3D in an early screening. You can read his exact words below.
Most blockbusters now are screened in standard format and 3D, but many of the bigger ones take it to the next level with IMAX 3D. That's the peak moviegoing experience in terms of visuals. However, going to the movies isn't cheap, and for IMAX 3D, you usually dropping around $20 to go in, and that's not including popcorn, drinks, etc. It's an expensive outing, and admittedly, a lot of movies don't deliver when it comes to 3D, so you have to be picky when it comes to choosing which movies deserve such a presentation, if any at all. That said, if we're to believe Paul Feig, then IMAX 3D is the best way to see Ghostbusters when it arrives in a few weeks. If you're willing to drop extra cash, then it sounds like that is where the Ghostbusters visual effects will be most appreciated. You'll get to enjoy all those ghosts, creepy magic and green slime at their finest. The only thing better would be experiencing those things in real life...which actually probably wouldn't be that enjoyable, in hindsight.
Just like the original 1984 movie, 2016's Ghostbusters will follow a group of four ghost hunters who have to use their knowledge and special technology to make sure that New York City isn't overrun by spiritual forces. The movie's cast includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Charles Dance and more. Predictions from last week speculated the movie will open between $40 to $50 million domestically, which is lower than one would expect for a movie of that size. Of course, given how much international ticket sales have been helping big movies in recent years, Ghostbusters could experience plenty of financial success in other countries. Either way, if enough people follow Feig's advice and check it out in IMAX 3D, that will help with draw in even more of that precious green.
Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15, and if you're eager to see it, let us know in the comments below if you plan to watch the movie in IMAX 3D.
