Operation Kino #11: Tree Of Life Reviewed And Auteur Theory Discussed

On this week's Operation Kino we give ourselves over to our artier side, reviewing Terrence Malick's new film Tree of Life and then discussing what makes us call filmmakers like Malick "auteurs," whether that word has meaning anymore and whether it helps or hurts the films they make. We also have some tidbits that cover television, the otherwise un-reviewed Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and the August Criterion Collection lineup. We've also got a lightning round question inspired by Pirates, plus your answers for dessert.
