Do Not Disturb is a new Fox workplace comedy that follows the people who work at The Inn, a hotel in New York City that’s popularity is on the rise. Neal (Jerry O’Connell) is the hotel’s egotistical general manager who takes all the credit for the The Inn’s popularity and wants to make sure the place stays popular. Rhonda (Niecy Nash) runs the Human Resources department, so it’s her job to keep Neal in check and also keep an eye out on the employees who work behind the scenes. That includes Nicole (Molly Stanton), an aging model who’s cynical and often hungry. Molly (Jolene Purdy) works in reservations clerk who works downstairs and doesn’t often get more than a glimpse of the rich and famous people who walk the lobby. Finally, there’s Larry and Gus. Larry runs housekeeping and Gus is the bellman.
After Jerry O’Connell’s cringingly unfunny and blessedly cancelled comedy series, Carpoolers there’s a part of me that wants to steer clear of this one but after catching a few clips (below), I’m thinking there might be something to this series in a sort of old-school sit-commy kind of way. The cast seems funny from what I’ve seen and I think this show might be worth a look.
