Among ABC Family’s summer programming is the moderately anticipated original movie Labor Pains. Starring Lindsay Lohan, the made-for-TV movie centers on Thea, a woman stuck in a dead-end job and about to be fired. In an effort to save herself a trip to the Unemployment office, she lies and says she’s pregnant so they won’t fire her. And thus begins Thea’s whacky adventure as she goes through the fake pregnancy in an effort to get her job back on track.

The plot reminds me a lot of ABC Family’s My Fake Fiance, in which a couple fake an engagement in order to score some great gifts and money from their wedding guests. I have a feeling Labor Pains will be just as predictable, though no less charming.

Labor Pains stars Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live), Luke Kirby (Tell Me You Love Me), Kevin Covais (American Idol) and Janeane Garofalo (24). Directed by Lara Shapiro, Labor Pains will air on Sunday, July 19th (8:00 – 10:00 ET/PT)..
