35th Annual People's Choice Awards Air Tonight

If you want to find out what other people think is the best in entertainment you have to go no further than tonight’s telecast of The People’s Choice Awards. The show marks its 35th anniversary giving the power to the people. Then again you have to be careful when that happens, as last year Moonlight won for best new drama. Moonlight. A show so lame Ethan Frome showed up as the producers left the stage to boo the decision to name that show “best” anything…except maybe “best show of lameitude.”

Not only are the winners chosen by the people, but using pcaVOTE.com the fans got to select the nominees. One thing of note is that these awards are already acknowledging the online space. “Favorite Online Sensation” features the winner Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog, as well as lesser candidates like “Pork and Beans.” Hell, even user generated videos get a category.

The People’s Choice Awards airs tonight, January 7, at 9pm ET on CBS.
