ABC's Last Resort Upgrades Robert Patrick To Series Regular

He's played numerous roles before and dozens since, and yet I'm pretty sure there's a generation of us who will always associate Robert Patrick with the creepy, expressionless, shape-shifting T-1000 terminator in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. While he won't be impersonating a cop in ABC's upcoming new series Last Resort, he will be in uniform for the drama series, and from what's being reported, it sounds like he'll be sticking around too.

Among the more promising looking pilots given the green light to series for the 2012-2013 season is Last Resort, a Shawn Ryan co-created drama that takes place in the near future and follows the crew of a nuclear submarine that refuses to fire their missiles and end up becoming fugitives as a result. Now that ABC has set the series up for its fall line-up, it's probable that we'll be hearing some updates to the cast as series' production moves forward. In fact, TV Line shared an update today, reporting that Robert Patrick has been bumped up to series regular on the show.

In Last Resort, Patrick plays the submarine's MC Joseph Prosser. Master Chief sounds like an important position, so it may be considered good news, at least for the sub crew, that Patrick's character's sticking around. We'll have to wait and see what kind of guy he is. In the meantime, Patrick has a number of other projects in development, including roles in the upcoming films Gangster Squad and Lovelace. His full addition to Last Resort certainly adds to the already fantastic cast for the series, which includes Andrew Braugher, Scott Speedman and Dichen Lachman.
