No New Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tonight, Watch Preview For 'The Bridge'

ABC has been airing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a great deal of consistency since the show began its run in late September, so far missing only one week, but sadly fans will have to wait a little longer to watch the next adventure with Coulson, Skye, Ward, May and FitzSimmons. Following last week's episode "Repairs," Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be taking the week off and will be waiting until December 10th to air the tenth episode of the first season.

Appropriately titled "The Bridge," the next episode will have big ties back to the pilot, as former Angel star J. August Richards is set to return as Mike Peterson (who you may remember as the out of control "superhero" who was given a dose of the dangerous Extremis virus as part of Project Centipede). You can read the full official description of the episode below:

“The Bridge” – In a shocking cliffhanger episode, Coulson takes the war back to Centipede, and this time he brings in Mike Peterson for some super-soldier support. As they get closer to the truth, startling secrets are revealed and an unexpected twist threatens the team, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10 (8:00-9:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons. While it was previously announced that there was going to be a two-part episode coming up, I'm sad that "The Bridge" is plainly referred to as "a shocking cliffhanger episode." I personally love being totally engrossed in a show and then suddenly realize that there isn't enough time left for the plot to tie up all the loose ends. Hopefully the show still has some big surprises in store that will make up for this less-than-dramatic reveal.

For a preview of what is in store you can watch the trailer below:

It would appear that some members of the team aren't too pleased that the guy who once nearly killed all of them is now being considered one of them. It's not hard to understand their concerns. Are you looking forward to the episode? Tell us what you're thinking in the comments below.
