Fifth Season Of Lost Premieres In January

ABC may have set the premiere date for Lost! If what’s being reported is true, it looks like we’ll only have to wait until January to see what the Oceanic 6 are up to this season and hopefully find out where the island disappeared to. What’s more, the premiere will be a three hour event!

According to Entertainment Weekly, their sources say the fifth season of Lost will premiere on January 21, 2009 with a three-hour event. At 8:00 PM a one-hour recap special will air on ABC. Then starting at 9:00 PM ET, two one hour episodes of Lost will air back to back. After that week, Lost will air at 9:00 PM ET on Wednesday nights.

If I remember correctly, Wednesdays at 9:00 PM was the original timeslot for Lost or maybe it was one of the timeslots for the series in its earlier seasons. While it’s nice to see it being moved to the more comfortable timeslot (for those of us who don’t like watching TV shows past 10 PM), it could end up conflicting with the American Idol results show, which could be a problem for some viewers.
