Hang in there Fringe fans – there’s still plenty of hope for the series that seems to be perpetually on the verge of cancellation. The good news is talks are continuing to bring the show back next season, and while you wait, check out the video compilation of “Walter-isms” just released during the cast’s WonderCon panel.
According to Deadline the Fringe WonderCon panel expressed plenty of hope for another season while appealing to fans to do what they do best – put on a “save Fringe” campaign. There has been talk of cancellation for the series all season, but negotiations are still in progress and we may see the series return for a shorter season if a lower license fee can be agreed on. A 13-episode season is better than none, after all, and would keep the show’s budget in check enough to keep it on the air. It does sound like this short season would likely be the last, but with a slew of recent cancellations of both old series like House and freshman series such as Terra Nova, there’s some room on the schedule. If another season does make it through, the success of new shows on the network next year may decide its final fate.
