Gannicus Mouths Off, Flirts And Kicks Ass In New Spartacus War Of The Damned Video

Looking at Gannicus, Spartacus, Crixus and Agron as the four main male characters on the rebellion side of Spartacus: War of the Damned, there's a sort of balance among their personalities. Spartacus and Crixus are more the serious types, while Agron and Gannicus fall a bit more on the playful side. We saw Gannicus' ego flare up right from the start, and though I had my doubts about him when Gods of the Arena first debuted, it soon became clear that his bravado is just part of who he is. It's even sort of charming. Or maybe it's just the smile. A good smile goes a long way and Gannicus has one of those, and some other assets.

The latest Spartacus: War of the Damned takes a look at Gannicus and has Dustin Clare talking about his character. There's also some interesting talk about where things might be going for Saxa and Gannicus when the series' final season airs next year.

He's still not interested in being a leader. He's still not good with authority. And from the looks of it, he's still insane with a sword (in a good way), good with the ladies and unwilling to hold his tongue when he has an opinion. I'm glad to see not much has changed for him between Vengeance and War of the Damned.

As for Saxa, there were hints on Vengeance that maybe there was some interest there between those two. While we know Gannicus is all about spending some time with the ladies, I love the idea of him getting together with one of the rebels fiercest female warriors. We'll have to wait and see what happens when Spartacus: War of the Damned premieres Friday, January 25 at 9:00 p.m. ET on Starz.
