While we might have expected renewals for shows like Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and Modern Family, the fate of some of ABC's new series was a bit less certain. But word is coming down the pipeline for many of them, and it's good news for Resurrection and The Goldbergs, which join Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. among ABC's freshman series that will be back for Season 2 in the 2014-2015 season.

Deadline dropped a number of updates last night about the fate of ABC's comedies and dramas. Here's what we know so far:

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Grey's Anatomy
Once Upon a Time
The Middle
Modern Family
The Goldbergs

Killer Women
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
Trophy Wife (Marcia Gay Harden Tweeted confirmation)
Mixology (TVLine says cancelled)

Official status unknown
Last Man Standing (this one is expected to come back)
The Neighbors (Update: cancelled)
Suburgatory(Update: cancelled)
Super Fun Night (Update: cancelled)

The status of those last few comedies is unknown and may not be determined until ABC makes its final decisions on the pilots in contention, which includes comedies Cristela and Fresh Off the Boat.

Pilots going forward.
Forever (Matt Miller's supernatural procedural)
Selfie (Emily Kapnek's "My Fair Lady-esque" comedy
Agent Carter (Marvel spinoff centering on Peggy Carter)
Galavant (fairytale musical comedy from The Neighbors' Dan Fogelman)
The Whispers (formerly The Visitors, an alien drama)
Manhattan Love Story (romantic comedy from Jeff Lowell)
How To Get Away With Murder (legal thriller executive produced Shonda Rhimes, starring Viola Davis)
American Crime (John Ridley's dark, racially charged drama)
Black-ish (executive produced by Laurence Fishburn, comedy starring Anthony Anderson)

Pilots not going forward
Sea of Fire
Saint Francis
Dangerous Liaisons

So that's a lot of stuff confirmed for ABC, with a few comedies either confirmed-cancelled or hanging in the balance while we wait for ABC to make their final decisions on some of their other pilots. As a big fan of The Goldbergs, I'm really happy that one made the cut. But I'm disappointed that Trophy Wife didn't.

It looks like they have a lot of new series lined up. We may hear the final word on Last Man Standing, Suburgatory and Super Fun Night today, but if not, we should know for sure one way or another by next week when ABC releases their 2014-2015 lineup.
