'Huff' Gets Snuffed

After two seasons, Showtime’s ‘Huff’ has been cancelled. As reported in Variety the Emmy-winning show got the boot just as it rounded off its second season. The reason behind the cancellation is unclear, as Showtime does not release its ratings information to the public. The show was about a psychiatrist (Dr. Huffstodt) whose life gets turned upside down after a teenaged patient commits suicide in his office.

Hank Azaria played Huff and was nominated for an Emmy for the role in 2005. The critically acclaimed show was nominated for seven Emmy’s last year. Blythe Danner took home the best supporting actress Emmy for her role in the show. Azaria was also nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and Oliver Platt was recognized for his role in the show with an Emmy nomination for Supporting Actor as well as a Golden Globe nomination.

Apparently nominations and awards don’t always guaranty high ratings.
