The Mortified Sessions Preview: Celebrities Get Mortified On The Sundance Channel's New Series

Next week, the Sundance Channel will premiere The Mortified Sessions, a celebrity interview series that digs through the past of famous actors and entertainers and features them as they share stories from their youth. Check out the videos ahead to see who’s featured in the show and get an idea of what they’ll be talking about.

I’ve seen a bit of the series, which debuts this Monday and is hosted by David Nadelberg. Ed Helms, Mo’Nique, and Eric Stonestreet were in the episodes I watched and, without giving too much away, each of them has some very amusing stories to share from their past, including clown college, having to wear glasses, dating, and growing up to become a star. There’s a “Private” box which contains artifacts from each celebrity’s past, like photos, diary entries, or poetry to illustrate the stories they share with us in the episode.

Not all of the stories fall under the “embarrassing” category, although some are truly priceless, including one story told by Eric Stonestreet about something he and a friend did in the woods one day, the details of which, I won’t spoil for you. The way he shares the memory is as funny as the story itself.

Cheryl Hines, Will Forte, Alanis Morissette, Megan Mullally and Jennifer Grey are among the other celebrities featured in the series. You’ll see some of them in the videos below.

The Mortified Sessions premieres Monday, December 5, 2011 on the Sundance channel.
