Scoundrels Watch: Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf

Tonight's episode was full of twists, turns, revelations, and one big cliffhanger that will most assuredly bring back fans of the show, if and when Scoundrels is renewed for a second season.

Over the last seven episodes Cheryl's life just seems to have gotten worse and worse, and wouldn't you know it! Tonight it got about as bad as it can get. So much happened in tonight's finale episode, I am going to offer up a character by character breakdown and wrap up with a few thoughts on this season.

Cheryl

With all that has happened the last few weeks Cheryl has just now started getting back on track, but it seems that during the drug bust (which Cheryl innocently walked into) she was spotted, and now everyone thinks she ratted out the Dealer who was arrested in the sting operation. Things begin happening that reflect everyone's feelings about her. Cheryl's business partners unanimously vote her out of the company, and to make matters worse a stalker begins leaving messages to Cheryl in the form of dead Pigeons, and a flying Gnome which comes crashing through the front window of The West house.

Scared and needing to get away from all the drama, she checks into a hotel only to find that a black SUV is parked outside of her room and someone seems to be watching her. Cheryl takes charge and confront her supposed stalker only to find that it is Sgt. Mack who has been looking after her this entire time. Things heat when Sgt. Mack enters the room, and begins to kiss Cheryl. Surprisingly, Cheryl begins to kiss back, but soon she realizes that what she is doing is wrong and asks Sgt. Mack to leave.

Cal

Cal is stuck with one very annoying problem, in the form of Tanya. Who has used the fact that she lied and gave Cruz and Cal an alibi in last week's Outlet Mall robbery to get into his pant's. Cal quickly learns just how trustworthy Tanya is when she presents him with a brand new water-bed, which she payed for with the money that Cal and Cruz stole. Things quickly get ugly and Cal calls it quits with Tanya, whom angrily storms out of the house and subsequently makes a call to the Police and recants her story about her supposed alibi.

Logan

Logan is still dealing with the fact that his Father wants nothing to do with him, and out of guilt looks into how Wolf's appeal is going. Logan goes and visits Wolf's new Lawyer only to find Cal is already there arguing over court fees, things get intense and the Lawyer ends up with a broken nose. Logan his left alone in the mans office, and begins snooping around. He soon discovers a bit of evidence that seems the suggest that Wolf is innocent, but he needs better proof. Logan spots the safe and realizes that there may be something more about his Father tucked away inside, so he goes to the only person he knows who can crack it, his Grandfather.

Grandpa West

Busy with other matters Logan puts Hope in charge of getting Grandpa West to crack the safe, but that is easier said then done. The seemingly catatonic Grandpa finally comes out of whatever funk he is in, only to reveal to Hope that the reason he has been so weird lately is because he was with Wolf the night of the robbery, and it was his ticket from the Dog Track (which had Wolf's fingerprints on it) that got Wolf thrown in jail. After several failed attempts Hope finally gets the old man to crack the safe, and Logan quickly realizes that Wolf had been set-up.

Heather

While the other West children are busy trying to save the family, Heather is busy trying to ruin it. It seems Grant is still very much in love with the aspiring Model, who has no feelings for the aging TV Star but sees him has her meal ticket. Things get dicey when Grant drops to one knee and asks if Heather will marry him, but reluctantly she says she'll think about it. Heather talks it over with both of her parents, and it seems that she may call things off with Grant. However, a few hours later she bursts through the door with the ring on and announces that her and Grant had eloped and that they were now married.

How's It All End?

Cal is ecstatic that they have the evidence to get Wolf out of jail, so he goes to the nearest Bar to celebrate. There he finds Charlie, and tells him the good news. But Charlie looks less than thrilled, and it is then that we learn that he is the one that planted the ticket with Wolf's fingerprints after they had left the scene. Cal leaves Charlie to check-up on Cruz who was supposed to meet him at the Bar, but as he exits the building he is greeted by several cops and arrested.

Cheryl still reeling from making out with Sgt. Mack is unaware that her Husband may be getting out of Jail and is pacing around the hosue when their is a knock at the door. She opens it to find Sgt. Mack who barges inside and begins professing his love for Cheryl, the tow exchange a glance and begin kissing. She stops Sgt. Mack and begins to tell him something when Wolf bursts through the door, and sees that his beloved Cheryl his in the arms of the man who put him away.

Thoughts on the Show

I was very surprised that the writers took so long to delve into the Grandpa West character, but saving him for the finale was a good idea in my opinion because is really made this episode the best of the series, so far. The tension between Cheryl and Sgt. Mack was starting was another good part about the show, and the cliffhanger at the end just added to the tension. I really enjoyed this season, and can honestly say I hope they renew it for another season because Scoundrels is extremely funny, and entertaining.
