Silverstone Reserves Seat at NBC's Table

It's back to the boob tube for Clueless star Alicia Silverstone whose slumping career could use a juicy role or two or however many it can get. Silverstone, after extensive negotiations with NBC, joined the cast of 'The Singles Table', a midseason comedy following five strangers who connect after sharing a table at the wedding of a mutual friend.

Silverstone will play one of the newly bonded strangers, Georgia, a doctor who lacks a life outside of her successful career, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pascale Hutton, recently cast on ABC's midseason drama 'Traveler', played the role in the pilot.

Although this is not Silverstone's first television stint, this will be her first presence on midseason television. NBC canceled Silverstone's fleeting 'Miss Match' before 2003's midseason. Do the math and by the end of 'The Singles Table's mini-season she will have been on a little more than one full season of NBC television. Now that's something even Hilary Duff cannot say to have accomplished.
