Another well known face and name is set to appear on Smash. Following the guest-appearances by Nick Jonas and the fantastic Bernadette Peters, Uma Thurman is set to appear in multiple episode of the series, playing a character named Rebecca Duvall. Pictures and spoilers ahead!?
If you’ve been keeping up with NBC’s Smash, then you know that the Marilyn Musical has unseated its star, Ivy, with plans to recast the role with someone more famous. Could Uma Thurman’s Rebecca Duvall be that star? Based on the episode description, it certainly appears so, and it looks like Karen may be getting her chance to move away from the chorus, stepping up to be Duvall’s understudy... if she can handle the pressure.
“Understudy” – UMA THURMAN GUEST STARS – The show has landed a star, the mercurial Rebecca Duvall (guest star Uma Thurman), but Eileen (Anjelica Huston) is thrown into a panic when Rebecca gets stuck in Cuba. Derek (Jack Davenport) puts Karen (Katharine McPhee) in as understudy, but she must learn to perform under extreme pressure as he threatens to break her will. Tom and Julia (Christian Borle and Debra Messing) celebrate their anniversary with a ritual – and face some hard truths about what show business can do to relationships. Megan Hilty, Raza Jaffrey and Jaime Cepero also star.
Thurman certainly looks like a star in these photos from the episode. She also looked intimidating, but it’s also entirely that I think that having recently watched Kill Bill.
