Summer TV Preview: Damages On FX

A wise woman once said that litigators are “the scariest kinds of lawyers.” Ok, I’m not exactly sure I would describe Cher from Clueless as wise but she did say that and it looks like FX has finally caught on because they’re about to air a legal thriller that centers on a very successful and ambitious litigator. If you’re a fan of ‘Rescue Me’ or any other FX show, you’ve probably already seen the commercials for this new series, titled ‘Damages.’

Based on the ads, it looks as though ‘Damages’ will fit right in among FX’s other original series. There are plenty of legal dramas on TV today but this one looks as though its been branded by FX’s signature dark twistiness which can be found in pretty much all of the network’s shows. ‘Damages’ stars Glenn Close, who will play Patty Hewes, one of the country’s most revered high-stakes litigators. At her side is her protégé, Ellen Parsons (played by Rose Byrne) who is prepared to dive into the crazy world of class-action lawsuits and learn the litigating trade from one of the best. Also set to star in the series are Ted Danson, Tate Donovan, Zeljko Ivanek, Anastasia Griffith and Noah Bean.

’Damages’ will premiere on FX on Tuesday, 7/24 at 10:00 p.m.
