CBS released some new images for Under the Dome, as well as a vague description for the series' pilot episode. The photos offer us a look at some of the supporting characters in the story, including Phil Bushey - known in the book as "The Chef" - as well as Britt Robertson's character Angie and Junior Rennie, the son of Dean Norris' character Big Jim Rennie.
Before we get to the photos, here's that vague episode description we promised…
“Pilot” – When the residents of Chester’s Mill find themselves trapped under a massive transparent dome with no way out, they struggle to survive as resources rapidly dwindle and panic quickly escalates, on the series premiere of UNDER THE DOME, Monday, June 24 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
That's pretty much the description for Stephen King's book (opens in new tab), on which this adaptation is based. It talks about the dome that drops down over a small New England town, but gives nothing away about the characters set to be introduced in this story. From the teasers and photos we've seen so far, it looks like we can expect at least some changes from page to screen. For those who haven't read the book, I'll do my best to be vague and minimal on the spoilers below, but I will be talking a little bit about the characters as we know them from the book, so keep that in mind if you decide to read on. Otherwise, just enjoy the pictures and skip the text!
First up, we have Nicholas Strong as Phil Bushey. They call him "The Chef" in the book, and not because he likes to cook food, though he does do plenty of "cooking." (Drugs). He spends a good portion of the book holed up at the Christian radio station, so the setting for this photo seems particularly fitting…
And here's a look at Britt Robertson as Angie. In the book, her character has an unfortunate run-in with Junior Rennie early on, but from what the photos show, I'm thinking we might see a deviation from that storyline.

And now here she is, looking like worried about something…
Next up, she's on a dirty looking bed with now sheets, looking like she's had a rough time.
And that brings us to this photo of Junior (Alex Koch), crouched at the foot of what may very well be the same bed…
This doesn't happen in the book. Not like this, anyway, and without getting into specifics on what actually does transpire, I'm wondering if maybe they've shifted Junior's story a bit. Will he be keeping Angie locked away in some basement somewhere?
