After Wilfred's insane and incredibly enjoyable "Progress," a special preview episode to unofficially start the second season, the FX series returned to, uh, normal last week by ”Letting Go.” Ryan and Wilfred were finally reunited (and it feels so good) after the car accident in last season's finale left the pup without a memory and heading for Wisconsin to recover with Chris Klein. Sorry, Drew. It took a bit of working out but the dog and man bromance is back on track heading into Episode 2. Here's a quick look at Wilfred's “Dignity.”
Written by Cody Heller and Brett Konner (their first episode), and directed by series' regular Randall Einhorn, “Dignity” has Ryan trying to keep Wilfred in the cage while he's at work (I wonder what that means for Jenna and Drew? L.A.? Bro?), but that obviously doesn't sit well with the latter. That means it's take Wilfred to work day and soon he's a regular 'office dog,' entertaining the rest of the staff much to Ryan's chagrin.
The episode also sees the return of guest stars Steven Weber and Alison Mack (and hopefully Rob Riggle) which certainly doesn't rub me the wrong way. There's something up with Weber's boss though, not only his spoon-petting of Wilfred, but the way that they light his office makes him seem all the more sinister. Probably just because he's the one putting Ryan in a position to return to his archeological ways. We'll see.
“Dignity” airs Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on FX. Wilfred stars Elijah Wood, Jason Gann and Fiona Gubelmann.
