Wilfred Season 2, Episode 6 - Avoidance
“Avoidance” is the explosive sixth episode of Wilfred’s second season and features the reappearance of a former friend of Ryan’s (played by Eugene Byrd), some doggy dancing competitions (Jelly Beans!) and what is the most pricey sequence in the show’s brief history. And even though you don’t exactly get to glimpse what Wilfred has in store for the episode’s expensive grand finale, turning the preview into a mock Old Hollywood, silent film aesthetic provides a nice tonal match for what you can expect. Especially with Pete Thomas’ “Swing King” playing in the background.
Take a look at Ryan and Wilfred busting a few black and white moves in anticipation for ”Avoidance.”
So the man and his man in a dog suit aren’t the most graceful pair but I still give them an ‘A’ for effort and don’t worry, there’s plenty of dancing you haven’t seen yet not to mention… well, I won’t mention. Last week’s ”Control” was almost a return to form for the program stumbling in the middle of its second season and, if I remember correctly from the Comic-Con screening, “Avoidance” finishes the job. That will mean more after you watch it on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on FX. Wilfred stars Elijah Wood, Jason Gann and Fiona Gubelmann. Episode 6 was written by Gann and directed by Randall Einhorn.
