This Week In Home Entertainment: Red 2, Breaking Bad And More
The Canyons has a coloring and a synth-oriented soundtrack that makes it stand out, and its story, while harrowing and simultaneously a little goofy, does feature Lohan proving she can act. This may not be the movie that turns things around for LiLo, but it may be the movie that reminds you of why she was an “it girl” in the first place.

Weekend Box Office: The Conjuring Scares Up Big Number One, R.I.P.D. is D.O.A.
With four new wide-release entries in theaters this weekend audiences had plenty of options to choose from, but pickings were slim for the movies themselves as the competition lead to just real one box office winner.

The Conjuring Clobbers Every Other New Release At Friday Box Office
Big-budget movies may be sucking up all the attention at Comic-Con this weekend, but it's a low-budget surprise hit that's actually dominating movie theaters. According to the early numbers at Deadline, The Conjuring is blowing away the rest of the competition tho sweetened, making $17 million on Friday alone and cruising toward a $38.5 million weekend

This week we give you two reviews-- two!-- for the price of one, as we review both Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives and the sequel nobody really asked for, Red 2. Which is better? Who glowers better-- Bruce Willis or Ryan Gosling? Which one involves exploding toilets? Find out all about that and much more, plus your answers to our lightning question about moments of violence in movies that make us squeamish

This Rotten Week: Predicting Red 2, R.I.P.D, The Conjuring And Turbo Reviews
Prepare yourself for a completely uninspiring group of movies this week. Not that they’re all bad, but it’s just a *meh* list through and through. This week we’re going red, dealing with dead cops, racing some fast snails and by the end we’ll conjure up something evil

Red 2 Trailer: What Happens In The Kremlin Stays In The Kremlin
"What happens in the Kremlin stays in the Kremlin." Really , the only thing surprising about that joke is that it hasn't somehow been made before-- it's been nearly 25 years since the Cold War ended, and yet there's still nothing more fun than putting some red-blooded American spies up against the chilly Russkies. Bruce Willis actually just finished mopping up the remains of the Soviet era in A Good Day to Die Hard

Anthony Hopkins Charms And Byung Hun Lee Packs Heat In New Red 2 Posters
So what is Red 2 actually about? It begins as Frank Moses (Willis) is forced to get his team of operatives back together to go on a global quest for a missing nuclear device. Unfortunately, the mission is backed to the gills with danger, as the gang throws down with assassins, terrorists and even some power-hungry government officials.

Helen Mirren, Catherine Zeta-Jones Grace The Latest Red 2 Posters
What do we know about the sequel? Galaxy Quest's Dean Parisot directs, reuniting the original spies from the first movie – a surprise hit – in a new mission that pits them against international threats. Like most sequels, it’s expected to take the formula from Red and amplify it times 100.

RED 2 And Now You See Me Will Release Earlier Than Planned
When a film’s release date gets changed, more often than not it’s a delay, due to unfinished reshoots or funding issues. Luckily, exceptions are common enough to keep everyone optimistic, and though the following changes aren’t Earth-shattering, it’s always good news when anticipated movies make their theaters earlier than expected

Red 2 Cast Turns Its Back On Us In New Poster
That’s clearly Bruce Willis in the middle … unless Helen Mirren recently shaved her head. And I’m fairly certain I can tell the difference between Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary-Louise Parker, who appear to be flanking Willis. But who’s in the boots and shorts, with the samurai sword behind their back?

Red 2 Gets An Explosive First Trailer
Back in 2010 I attended a San Diego Comic Con press conference for the action movie Red. At that time the movie wasn't set to come out for another three months, but one of the reporters in the crowd asked the panel what the chances of seeing a sequel were. In his response to the question Lorenzo di Bonaventura responded, "I think, from the film side, the audience has to vote. We all enjoyed it a lot and think they’re great characters. I’d certainly like to see them all act together again."

Bruce Willis And John Malkovich Have Some Strange Fashion Sense In New Red 2 Image
Red, the Robert Schwentke film starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman, wasn't a record-setter when it was released back in 2010, but it quietly did quite well at the box office. After receiving largely positive marks from critics who praised it as a fun action comedy, it went on to make over $90 million domestically and nearly $200 million internationally, all on a rather small $58 million reported budget.

Harry Potter's David Thewlis Joins The Cast Of Red 2
David Thewlis is well known to the fans of fantasy movies thanks to his work as Remus Lupin in the series of Harry Potter films, but now he's getting set to introduce himself to fans of action movies. The actor has officially signed on to the cast of Red 2, the sequel to the Robert Schwentke-directed comic book adaptation from 2010.

Red 2 Sales Poster Gets The Gang Back Together
Red is one of those movies that was a surprisingly big hit when it came out-- $90 million domestic and another $108 million overseas-- but seems to be totally forgotten already, not even two years after it came out. And it was a fun movie, with a cast including Helen Mirren, John Malkovich at his weirdest

Anthony Hopkins Sought For Red 2 Villain Role
The action in the initial – a surprise hit for Summit – was slightly cartoonish but grounded in enough reality that Hopkins could sink his teeth into the dramatic flair of an evil-villain role while still managing to have some fun. I also think it’s important for Willis and Mirren’s characters to face off against someone closer to their own age. I don’t need to see Willis trying to get the upper hand on some young, hotshot action foe.

Galaxy Quest's Dean Parisot Looking To Direct Red 2
What's interesting is that they haven't looped back around to Robert Schwentke, who directed the first movie on a $60 million budget to an eventual worldwide gross of almost $200 million. When they first started movement on the sequel Schwentke was busy shooting R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, but that movie seems to be wrapped up

Just a few minutes ago it was reported that John Moore is 20th Century Fox's choice to helm Die Hard 5, but there's still another Bruce Willis sequel in pre-production that doesn't have a helmer. Earlier this year Erich And Jon Hoeber were hired to pen a sequel to Summit's Red and a few days later the project was given the greenlight.
