Yes, the AR-15 assault rifle and the chainsaw attached to it both actually work. The proud owner of the Lancer has posted several pictures and videos on the AR15 forums of the weapon in action. Shooting pumpkins and then running up to slice them apart isn't quite as glamorous as fighting Locusts but it does look fun.
Plus uh, it makes him better able to protect his family. Yeah, that's the ticket.
